2022 11st INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CHEMICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING ICEE - T1: Nuclear Energy is Safe, Economical, Sustainable, and Friend to Environment

Nuclear Energy is Safe, Economical, Sustainable, and Friend to Environment

Prof. Dr. Karim Eldin Aladham

Abstract:

Nuclear Energy as a source of power is considered very safe. For a long operation period (about 65 years) only 3 major accidents occurred. From the economic point of view, the cost per  Kw.h is considered very competitive to the other sources. The use of breeder reactors and exploiting the Uranium in seawater can cover human needs for thousands of years. Environmental impact is only limited to water vapor from the cooling tower which illustrates how it is a friend to the environment.
